Computing
Our Curriculum Intent for Computing
At Offham Primary School, it is our intention to inspire children to use technology confidently, safely, and responsibly, while understanding both its incredible benefits and potential risks. By the time they leave our school, they will feel empowered to harness technology in ways that support them in their future lives, whether it’s for practical tasks or expressing their creativity in meaningful ways.
Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and develop children’s computational thinking, helping them tackle complex problems with logical approaches that will serve them not just in computing, but across all subjects and beyond the classroom. We aim to provide a rich variety of experiences, giving students hands-on opportunities with the latest advancements, such as digital animation and artificial intelligence, fostering a sense of excitement about the world of technology.
An essential part of this journey is helping children gain a deep understanding of how computers and digital systems function, including the intricate components within their devices. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure every child at Offham feels prepared and confident to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape, equipped with the skills and creativity to thrive in a technology-driven world.
