Forest School is a key part of life at Offham Primary School. 

 Offham is very fortunate to be able to use a dedicated area for the use of forest school provision. Children across the school take part in regular forest school sessions planned by trained Forest School Leaders. 

What happens at Forest Schools at Offham?

 At Forest School, children become artists, explorers, ecologists and more! They learn about the trees, flowers, insects and animals and how to take care of them.

 Forest School is a safe space where children learn and practice new skills. We build different types of shelters, from A-frames to teepees. We practice knots, such as the timber hitch and clove hitch. We use lots of different tools at Forest school, including hack saws, palm drills, bow saw and firelighters.

 Forest School has endless opportunities to get messy and creative! The children at Offham have used mallets to print flowers onto fabric, have smashed blackberries and charcoal to make natural paint to decorate trees, have used hacksaws and palm drills to make beautiful beaded bracelets and have made marvellous hanging decorations by mastering the art of Nordic weaving.

Year 3 children recently made musical siskins while Year R adorned woodland crowns with natural treasures.
